Privacy Policy — Odd One Out

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Odd One Out collects nothing. It has no network code, no analytics, no accounts and no advertising. Nothing you type into it leaves your phone.

Who is responsible for the app

Odd One Out is published by Odd One Out Games, a sole trader business operated by Amara Okonkwo in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, that is the data controller for this app.

You can get in touch at o.place100@gmail.com.

What the app stores on your device

The app saves a small amount of information locally, so it can remember your setup between sessions. It is stored using the operating system's standard app preferences and is removed when you uninstall the app.

StoredWhy
Player names you type inSo you do not have to re-enter the same group every time
Sound, music, vibration and animation settingsTo remember how you like the app to behave
Per-game settings (rounds, categories, difficulty options)To remember your preferred setup for each game
Whether ads have been removedTo honour a purchase if one is ever made

None of this is transmitted anywhere. There is no server to transmit it to.

What the app does not store

Nothing about a round in progress is ever written to disk. Secret words, roles, numbers, private answers and votes exist only in memory while the game is running and are discarded when the round ends or the app closes. That is a deliberate design decision, not an accident: it means a half-finished game cannot leak out of the app afterwards.

What the app does not do at all

To be explicit, because these are the things a privacy policy usually has to cover:

Permissions

The app requests no special permissions. It does not ask for the internet, storage, camera, microphone, contacts or location, because it does not use any of them.

Children

The app has no network features, no chat, no user-generated content that leaves the device, no advertising and no in-app purchases in this version. The written content is deliberately kept to everyday topics with nothing political, medical or sexual in it.

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Your rights

UK data protection law gives you rights over personal data held about you, including the right to ask for a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

In practice there is nothing held about you to exercise those rights against: the player names and settings described above never leave your device, and nobody else can see them. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. If you would like to ask about any of this, use the contact address above.

Links to other services

The app contains no links out to other websites or services, and no embedded third-party content.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app adds advertising, in-app purchases or any other feature that collects data, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the app's store listing and data disclosures will be updated to match. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
